I slowly realized the depth of their relation...their friendship...
It might might have been a boon to Hanuman to embrace the 'master of all'. But, what would have run in the mind of Rama...

It was not a shower of blessings upon his most ardent devotee....
Probably it was a sense of friendship...
One that shall be revered for generations to come...
One relation where the God saw his devotee as a friend...
One that proved his character - humble, merciful and loving...
